Sunday 12th October 2025 - Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost

REFLECTION: Luke 17:11-19 “Only One Returned”

Jesus healed thousands of people in his time. John writes at the end of his Gospel

“But there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were

written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would

be written.” John 21:25. If Jesus healed so many, there must be a reason why only a

few healings are told in detail. We should ask ourselves the question, why has Luke

mentioned this healing in particular.

What does he want us to learn? What does he want you to learn? Here is a summary

of the message.

1. Mercy and miracles

2. Faith and healing

3. Only one man returned

4. He was a “foreigner”

5. What can we learn from this?

To Think About:

We are good at asking for things but not so good at thanking him for answered

prayers. What has the Lord done for you lately for which you have not thanked

him?

UPDATE ON BUILDING FUND

Late last year we estimated that we would need another $300,000 to complete the

building project. There have been many variations to the project pricing and

unforeseen expenses but we believe we are almost there. We have

raised $231,344 to the end of September. We still need a last minute push from

everybody in prayer and in giving to push us over the line to allow us to finish debt

free. Can you help?

AUBREY VANDERPUTT

Our dear brother Aubrey went to be with the Lord this week after a fall causing
