Sunday 16 October 2022 – Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost

REFLECTION: 2 TIMOTHY 3:10-4.5

If you were to go to a deserted island paradise where all your necessities

were covered, what three items would you bring with you? I’m sure most of

us would bring a phone, right? Maybe a satellite phone to talk to whoever we

wanted? Perhaps the next item would be some chocolate since we all love

chocolate, don’t we? But what would be our final item that we would bring?

Perhaps the most devout waking us would bring their trusty, well loved,

often read Bible. But why would you bring your Bible on an island paradise

that has everything you need?

In our reading this week, the apostle Paul continues his instructions to

Timothy and in this passage, we will see why the Scriptures, the Holy Bible

and all the writings within are so significant and central to our life and faith.

1. The Apostles life in Christ

2. The Holy Scriptures

3. Preach the Gospel
