Sunday 23rd November 2025 - Christ the King Sunday

REFLECTION: Colossians 1:11-20 ‘’What’s so great about Jesus?”

Is Jesus over-rated? What is so great about him? Why are so many people

completely committed o follow him and even to die for him? In today’s reading in

Colossians, we are reminded that Jesus is fully God and through him all things were

made. We learn that he has rescued us from the powers of darkness and given us

the forgiveness of sins. We discover that through him, God is restoring and

reconciling all things to himself. In summary, Jesus is pretty fantastic. Here is a

summary of the main points.

1. Through him we have been rescued from the power of darkness (12-13)

2. In him we have the forgiveness of sins (14)

3. In him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell (15, 19)

4. In him all things in heaven and on earth were created and are held together (16)

5. Through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things (20-21)

To Think About:

What do I think about Jesus?

Is he really the Son of God who came to rescue me?

If so, what am I waiting for?
