ALPHA

You may have heard of Alpha. Alpha is a tool built for local Churches based on hospitality, sharing and open conversation Millions of people have experienced Alpha in over 100 countries and over 100 languages around the globe. Michael is preparing to run an Alpha course at St James’ starting in late February. The course goes for 11 weeks and begins with a meal and sharing over the table. He is proposing to have a simple meal in the Parish Centre at 6pm on Wednesday’s gathered around tables and going through the course and finishing by 8pm. Alpha is great for inviting a friend who may be interested in faith. Start praying about who you might invite. More information to follow shortly.

CMS MISSIONARY

Zoe’s plans to have her car freighted to Darwin have been disrupted due to the flooding through central Australia. She writes: ‘Quick update and prayer request: - with the flooding in South Australia disrupting everything in the north, I’m now going to be driving north next week sometime! Praise God for his provision of a driving pal who just happened to have a few weeks. Please pray for the additional logistics amidst the final goodbyes – things like retrieving my car from the depot, finding a car fridge, changing phone provider, sorting out places to stay up through NSW, Qld and NT, getting my car serviced, repacking everything…. It’s a long list but it feels like the right decision and I’m looking forward to the trip. Praise God that he’s got it all in hand.’

We pray for those who are sick or troubled in body or mind, or who have special needs: (Please email contact@stjamesdandenong.com or contact clergy for prayers for anyone who is in need of them). This week we continue to pray for: Mike; Mark; Hazel; Clovis; Rose; Rhonda; Tim; Muznah; Eva; Cecil. If you have placed a name in the Book for Prayers, please remove anyone who no longer needs them. Alternatively email the office. We also pray for: The Church of Ireland; Anglicare Australia; Korowa Anglican Girls' School; Confirmation @ St John's Camberwell; St John’s Highton; St Paul’s Caulfield North; Archbishop Philip and all our Bishops in their ministry this week.
