REFLECTION:
24Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let
him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
This pithy verse encapsulates two aspects of being a disciple of Christ that
are the “litmus test” of being a true follower of Jesus. They are denial of self
and the taking up of your cross and following after Christ. Both of these
aspects can be glibly answered in the affirmative but actually living out
there true meaning is much harder to do.
Today we will explore these prerequisites of being a disciple of Jesus.

DISCIPLESHIP EXPLORED STARTED ON THE 30TH OF
AUGUST
The word “disciple” means “follower” or “learner.” A disciple of Jesus isn’t
some kind of super-Christian. In fact, Jesus assumes that all of his followers
are disciples. Over the next eight weeks, we’ll be exploring a letter written
to some of the earliest Christian disciples by one of the earliest Christian
leaders: Paul. He was in chains at the time, guarded day and night by a
Roman soldier – and yet, as he keeps telling them, he’s overflowing with
joy. We’ll discover why every Wednesday (7:30-9pm) in the Fellowship
Room.
INTERACTIVE SESSIONS ON FORGIVENESS
