Sunday 20th August 2023 – Twelfth Sunday After Pentecost

REFLECTION:

Today is Mission Sunday where we place emphasis upon task of making

disciples of Jesus, proclaiming the gospel to the Nations. At this time it is

right to think of those who take the gospel to the nations, and our first

Nations people, but some deeper more fundamental questions need to be

asked on a day such as this. Where are people to go? Who is to be sent out

with this gospel message? To whom do they go?

How is that proclamation to be expressed?

HYMNS

TIS 161 Tell out my soul

MP 463 May the mind of Christ my saviour

MP 288 I need thee every hour

TIS 145 The king of love

BEWARE OF SCAMS

Texts have been going out to parishioners in multiple Anglican churches

across Melbourne pretending to be from the vicar and asking you to contact

them on another number. Something like the following:

Hello ...., this is Rev. Graeme Peters, I'm in a meeting right now, can't talk

on phone but text me back when you get this message, your assistance is

crucial and highly appreciated.

Please ignore them.

Thanks, from the real Graeme Peters.
